Yoga

Elizabeth teaches in the Iyengar style, and is a certified teacher in that method; her teaching is both compassionate and respectful towards each individual, while inviting challenge of preconceived limitations heldĀ  by each practitioner. Iyengar yoga teaches us to listen deeply, attuning our awareness again and again, working with precision and intelligent use of props to achieve balance and health in the body and internal state. Wise challenge towards oneself is encouraged. Class begins with reflection on practice from a philosophical and spiritual perspective, and then unfolds into the physical postures or asana work of the discipline. Short meditations and a time of savasana, or resting in stillness follows the asana practice.
